Privacy
What this site collects, what it does not, and why.
Last updated: 18 August 2026
The short version
- There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and no password to lose.
- There is no advertising and no advertising network on any page.
- Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with anyone for marketing.
- The tools run inside your browser. Words you type or paste are not sent to a server.
- Visitor numbers are counted, but not in a way that identifies you.
What is collected
Visitor statistics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count how many people visit and which pages they read. It is a privacy-focused tool: it does not set cookies for tracking and does not build a profile of you across sites. What it records is limited to things like which page was viewed, which site referred you, the general type of device and browser, and the country the request came from. A page’s address can itself name a word when you arrive through a word link — opening sold from a level list, for example, loads the address /?q=sold — and such addresses are counted like any other page.
That data is aggregated. It tells me that a page was read four hundred times last month; it does not tell me who read it.
The purpose is narrow and worth stating plainly: seeing which pages, level lists and shared word links people open shows where the site is actually used, and that guides which words get a written definition next. What you type into the tools is never part of it: searches run entirely in your browser, the address bar changes only on your own screen, and the analytics script is set not to report in-page activity.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request information, including IP addresses, in order to deliver pages and protect against attacks. I do not have access to a log of individual visitors, and I do not store one.
Fonts
Typefaces are served from this site itself, so viewing a page makes no request to any font provider. The fonts are open-licensed and their licences are published alongside the files.
If you write to me about a wrong level or a worksheet that did not work, I keep the message so I can act on it and reply. I do not add correspondents to any mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
What is not collected
Worth being specific, because several of these are things a teacher might reasonably worry about.
- Letters you enter into the unscrambler are processed by your own browser. They are not transmitted or stored.
- Wordlists you paste into the scramble maker stay in your browser. If you paste a class vocabulary list, it does not reach me or anyone else.
- Names written on a printed worksheet are on paper. Nothing about a printed sheet returns to this site.
- Nothing from the pronunciation button. It uses your device's own speech voice. No audio is sent anywhere, no microphone is used, and no recording is made.
- Nothing about students. There are no student accounts, no class records, and no test scores held here. The score boxes on the revision sheets are printed lines on paper, not a database.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies to track you. The analytics tool used here is cookieless by design. Your browser may store ordinary technical items needed to display a page, and Cloudflare may set a cookie for security purposes, but nothing here follows you to other sites. If you tick Remember in the scramble maker, your settings and last word list are kept in this browser’s local storage — never transmitted — until you untick it. Practice My Words works the same way: the words you press Save for practice on, and your practice progress, are kept only in this browser’s local storage; Remove, Clear list — or clearing your browser data — deletes them.
Children
These worksheets are intended for teachers to print and use with classes, including young learners. The site itself is not designed for children to register with or submit information to, and it offers no way to do either. No age is requested because no personal information is requested.
Your rights
Who is responsible. This site is run by its author, named on the about page; the contact address below reaches him directly. For visitor statistics the legal basis is a legitimate interest in understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used; for email, it is responding to what you sent.
Who else touches the data. Cloudflare provides the hosting and the analytics described above and processes requests on its worldwide network; no other company receives anything.
How long things are kept. Email is kept only as long as it takes to act on it. Aggregate statistics are held by Cloudflare for the retention period of its analytics product.
Where data-protection law applies to you, you can also object to or restrict processing, ask for a copy of anything held about you, and complain to your data-protection authority — in Thailand, the Personal Data Protection Committee.
Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act, and under the GDPR if you are in Europe, you have rights over personal data held about you, including the right to ask what is held, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted.
In practice there is very little to ask about, because almost nothing is held. If you have written to me, you can ask me to delete your message and I will. Write to the address below.
Changes
If this site ever adds something that collects more — a newsletter, a saved wordlist, an account — this page will be updated before that feature goes live, and the date at the top will change. It will not happen quietly.
